We’ve been invited to visit The Institute for Nonviolence Chicago on August 30th at 10:00 AM.
At our last meeting Tara Dabney and Burrell Poe, from The Institute, explained the important work that the Institute does to reduce gun violence and they taught us about Martin Luther King’s Concept of The Beloved Community. Now we can meet more of their staff and experience the community where they work.
The Institute doesn’t just talk about taking action to end gun violence, the staff DOES something about it. Below is a brief description of their philosophy. I hope Action Ridge can develop an on-going relationship with the Institute and help them continue to make a difference “where the rubber meets the road”.
If you are able to attend, please RSVP to Nan at nanparson@hotmail.com
