Maine South working to create a more welcoming and supportive community for all students

Action Ridge is proud to join with the local high schools to create a more “Beloved Community.” On February 11, 2021 Maine South Principal Dr. Ben Collins, colleagues and students shared with us the ways in which they are working to make the school more welcoming for all students. Among their many efforts, SOAR (Students Organized Against Racism) has created an equity banner, which will be displayed at Maine South eventually made available as yard signs.

Earlier efforts include this video that the school created in June 2020 after the murder of George Floyd.  It makes clear that staff at Maine South care about the well-being of every student.
