Meeting July 12

Tara Dabney, of The Institute for Nonviolence Chicago, will be speaking to us on Thursday, July 12th at 7:00 at the Community Church.The Institute strives to "replace the cycle of violence using the principles, practices and teaching of nonviolence", as espoused by Dr. Martin Luther King. It provides training, outreach, conflict mediation, case management and support services in at-risk communities.We'll learn how we can support the Institute's efforts and explore ways in which we can become one of the "beloved communities" that Martin Luther King talked about.This topic is vitally important during these troubled times when too many are resorting to violence to deal with internal and external conflict.
